I am finishing up Micro right now and am going to save A&P for last. I have NC3-7 to go along with lifespan & sociology.  Which of these should I take first to gain the largest amount of momentum.  I would like to knock down some of the easier ones very quickly.

It might make the most sense to get NC3-7 out of the way, and the reason I say that is because there is usually a 6-month wait between applying for your CPNE site and your testing date. I plan on using the time between application and testing to finish the last three non-nursing classes I need -- Micro, Sociology, and Lifespan (and I'm going to do the CLEP tests for the last two). I figure the faster I finish the NCs, the faster I'll get my CPNE date! When I finish NC7, I'll be well within 10 credits of finishing, so I'll be eligible to apply. I'm taking NC3 on July 31st, and it's not taking me that long for each NC -- I did NC2 on July 3.

Don't know if any of that helps, but there it is. I did A&P first ... couldn't wait to get that monster out of the way!! Yikes.

  How hard is the A&P exam I am studying for it now, I am finishing the bones chapters. I have Lisa's CD what other advice can you give me on studying for it. Thanks for your help.

A&P was tough, but I think that was partially because of the sheer volume of material it covers! Two semesters' worth of stuff. The test seemed to go fairly deep to me -- and seemed more heavy on physiology vs. anatomy, but you still have to know anatomy as well. It's important to really understand body mechanisms like digestion, muscle movement, hormones and their actions, etc. Definitely know all the cardiovascular, endocrine, nervous, respiratory, and digestive functions inside and out. The test does seem to be pretty true to the study guide as far as what percentage of material will be on the test.

The EC practice tests were very helpful for this one, I thought. It was my first EC exam experience, so those practice tests helped me know what to expect.

hello  everybody!! this  is for any one to answer can i clep Human Growth and Dev instead of taking the life span and dev  test is'nt HGD cheaper? als will excelsior except it?/ just wanted to know cause i have all kinds of notes from lpn school on HGD thanks a bunch .yo-yo

Yup, Excelsior will accept the CLEP test in lieu of Lifespan -- I wrote and asked them about it a while back. Yes, the CLEP is cheaper -- $65 for CLEP, vs. whatever EC is charging for Lifespan now -- $200-something.
