I just took my practice tests for A&P. I scored 50% on the first and 59% on the second. I am scheduled to take the real test in one week. What is the passing score for the real test? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

You need a "C" or better to pass. I think I got in the 60's on the A&P practice exams and ended up with a "B" on the real thing. Good luck!

Does anyone know what percentage they consider a "C" on this test?

Have you ever taken an EC exam before? You don't get a percentage; you only end up with a letter grade, and then a percentage correct in each subject area of the exam, but those percentages include unscored questions, so it's not a direct correlation to the resulting grade.

No I have never taken an EC test before. Just the Clep. I guess what I'm asking is do you think 59% on the practice test will pass me on the real thing. There is so much to remember. I am using Lisa Arends CD and have the istudy smart module. I have been going over this stuff for months. None of the clep classes were this long and grueling.
Thanks for your help Lisa.

Generally speaking, it seems likely you'd pass with practice scores like that. Of course, I can't guarantee it! Smiley

I notice that you are an RN. How long did it take you to get through the excelsior program? I have taken Sociology, Humanities, Human growth and development  and English Comp. So far 10 months. I still have all the nursing courses and Micro to complete after this A&P test. Should I start setting a time limit on each course to finish sooner? Any suggestions?

It took me a year, a month, and a day from the time I took my first exam (A&P) until the day I passed my CPNE. I did the CLEP tests for Sociology and Human Growth & Development and did Micro while waiting for my CPNE date. I work three 12's a week, so I spent my other four days studying. I scheduled my exams for three to four weeks out, then studied my @$$ off up to my "deadline." It worked well for me.

How long did you have to wait for the CPNE? I am in Dallas and I think there is one in Plano. I have heard 6-8 months? I am 48 years old and have been an LVN for 15 years. Time is critical here if you know what I mean.

I have come to know/enjoy Lisa very much and respect her insight!  She is quite a motivator!  I started the EC program Aug of last year with zero credits.  I took my first test the 3rd week in Aug and became CPNE eligible the first week of June this year.  I took the CPNE the first week in Aug in Amarrillo and passed with no repeats.  On Aug 27?  I wrote the NCLEX, shutting off after 70 questions.  EC will prepare you very well.  Just buckle down.  I gave myself a year to do this and I did it!  I also worked full time, doing traveling nursing, so I had my 3 shifts per week to do (36 hours) plus travel back and forth to home.  It can be done.  It is just how soon you want it done and what you put into it.

Now, I am enrolling in a BSN program (thanks Lisa!)
