I was going to start this exactly 2 years ago.  I bought Lisa Arends notes and the required textbook, study guides, etc.  What I have is Martini's Fundamentals of A & P seventh edition.  If I buy Lisa Arends new notes and study the old book (I've got EVERYTHING that goes with it) would I be okay or should I start all over with the new book, Tortora's 11th edition?  I've been an LVN for 25 years now and have learned a lot on my own.  I have new RN's asking me questions all the time.

I REALLY need an informed reply.  If I can use my old textbook with updated notes from Lisa Arends that would be great!  If not, I'll order the new textbook from ebay.  I just want to get started.  Surely somebody can answer my question.  Thanks.

Has anatomy and physiology really changed in the last couple of years? Probably not. Wink You should be fine with the Martini text, but in all exams, my advice is to follow the EC exam content guide -- let that information guide your learning. If it doesn't seem like the Martini book is working out, switch it up. You probably won't know until you start. I also recommend the EC practice exams -- well worth the $65. Good luck on your exam.

I agree...you have a text and the body is the same as 2 years ago...you have ongoing experience.....take the EC practice exams and follow the guide.  Your info is there for you in what you have already.

If you download the content guide, you can probably 'match up' chapters with what is required on the exam.  If not, I would opt for the required text.
