This is the only class standing in the way of me being CPNE eligible, and I am wondering how do I prepare for it...I have the content guide and course guide, vangonotes, chancellors, tcn, and alot more..Where do I begin? I am trying to focus on key concepts, so I can prepare properly. Thanks.

If you have finished all concepts courses, please don't wait to apply for your CPNE!!!  You are elegible to apply and can be taking A&P while you wait for a date.  This was my schedule............................

NURX*103 concepts 1  7/07
NURX*206 concepts 3  8/07
NURX*204 concepts 6  9/07
NURX*205 concepts 4  10/07
NURX*207 concepts 5  10/07

Applied for CPNE 12/08, and accepted.

While waiting for a date, I took:
           A&P 3/08
           Microbiology 4/08
then began studying hard for CPNE...

  NURX*299 CPNE  8/08

Graduated officially 9/08 (takes about 6 weeks for them to process all and notify your state BON)

NCLEX 10/08

Hope this helps you get there a little faster!!!

Congrats on all you have done thus far!!!

Thanks for your response Becky, but I still have 16credits to complete the entire program. That is why, I am wanting to take A&P in order to get the six credits I need to be eligible at a remaining 10credits left. I actually took A&P years ago and failed it at a community college, so I am really trying to overcome that factor in my head...I guess..But, I know I can do it!!! Can you tell me how you prepared for this subject? What materials did you find most helpful? Thanks for any support...

I used the TCN book...took each chapter quiz then took the test in the back from the beginning through the end of the chapter I had studied....then the next chapter...chapter quiz...test in the back start to end of that chapter...until I finished all chapters and took whole practice test.  By then I knew that test from start to finish.  I looked up 100TTK about A&P and took both of the EC practice tests.  I studied weekends only (marathon Saturdays and Sundays!)  I took the test after 3 weekends of study...got a B

Hope that helps...   Smiley

Becky,
Thank you so much for your response. It does help. But, I have decided to take Ethics, and an elective at this time. I will take the Dantes exams for these. I think it would be quicker for me to become CPNE eligble this way. I will come back to A&P ,and micro last while I wait on a date for CPNE. I will probably end up taking an approved course thru my local college. Studying A&P independently is a little more than I think I can swallow....I can't afford to pay the fee for this exam, and fail it and have to pay again...So, I think it would be best for me to take a course for those. Thanks for listening....Take care.
