I don't know for sure because I have not yet tested at Pearson Vue, but have been told that the practice test is worse than the actual test.  I did 74 on the 1st and 76 on the 2nd and 91 on the test in the back of the TCN book......go figure!  I hope I was told right, because I felt like I knew the info better than the practice test showed.  Good luck!  I test 7-16-07 (was scheduled for today but had to change due to flooding...

I always took one practice exam at the start of my studing then one when I felt I was prepared. I never passed the practice exams but always shot for a 15 to 20 point increase then I wrote the answers I missed out in a sentence form. I passed all test the first time except nc 6 and that was just my fault thought I knew the info so did not study just went and took the test. I finished all nc test in 8 months and had a B average at the end.

Hello,

When I have studied for other things I also like to take a practice exam first.  I find it helps me with studying what I need to know.

Be prepared for very hard tests. I have been using the TCN guides and their practice exams are very easy compared to the real exams at pearson vue. The excelsior tests are extremely hard. I took NC 1 sometime ago and passed and I got a C. I wasn't sure I was even going to pass. I do all the practice tests and order the excelsior study guide and practice tests online. Congratulations to all of you who are passing these exams. When I get a 75% or higher on the practice exams, I know I will pass the real exam. I just go by percentage correct to see how I am doing. I am currently studying NC 3 and will probably test next month.

Funny...I noticed that on both the NC1 and the NC3 tests I did much better on the actual test than on the TCN test.  I got As on the real things and b-c on the practice ones. (75-85%).  I am taking NC6 the 7th.  Good luck on the rest of yours!
