nc4
« on: May 22, 2007, 09:22:13 PM »

hello everyone.....i  just wanted you all to know that i am very happy to be a part of this group.  i am currently studying for nc4 which i have procrastinated over for the past year due to marriage and relocation. however i have finally started to focus my studies to complete the program.  i am currently using chancellors and lisa arends notes.  i just feel like i am overwhelming myself with too much information and then i start to get discouraged. for anyone who has already taken nc4 any successful test taking strategies would be very welcome at this point.  If i am trying to study too much information please let me know.  i would just like to stay with the basics to succeed in this program.  thank you

Nurse40,
The Lisa Arends notes are great.  Her notes cover the material extremely well.  Too much material is overwhelming.  If you study too deep it gets frustrating.  Lisa does a great job of introducing the topic and inserting important information pertaining to the topic. Make sure when testing to use the Nursing Process.  Ask yourself, which part of the nursing process are they asking for. This is key in answering the test questions.  Good Luck...

Hi, have you taken nc4 yet?  I just started to study for nc4 today.  I passed nc1 yesterday.  I would like to study with you, if you are looking for a study buddy.

Hello,
I am new to this forum, and I am considering on going through EC to obtain my R.N, I am a L.P.N of two years, and I work in a Family Practice Clinic, and I am wanting to find out which company is best to get the learning materials from, College Network, Rue, or Chancellor, are there any others out there? But I just want to know which one is the best.

Hello 4 held me up for a long time also, just stay with it.  Use excelsiors content guides as a base line for what you have to know to pass the test. and just pull from different sources.

I am going through TCN but...don't go through the company.  Have EC evaluate and tell you what courses you need and then get the guides from eBay.  Going through the publishing company cost around $400 a course!
