Will Test April 8

Hello,
I'm new; have not applied to the EC yet. I plan on taking Essentials Health Safety to gage how well I might do with distance learning. So far I got the studygroup 101 notes and printed the EC exam content guide. I realized I don't like studying from a computer monitor; I need to hold the book/paper in my hands and highlight important points. I got a 73% on practice exam A which is not as well as I thought I'd do. I plan to take the Form B test a few weeks before April 8 to see how my studying is going.

Welcome aboard!
You will find that a 73% on the Practice test will get you at least a B on the real test.....so don't be discouraged.
Print your info from studygroup 101 if you prefer not to study from a computer monitor. You probably should have a text of some kind to work from also...not relying totally on someone else's study notes.
You will do fine on the test....The first one is always the hardest to take because it is all new to you.

Hi Kim! Like BJ said, don't be discouraged by your practice exam scores -- I usually got in the 70s on the first one, sometimes up into the 80s on the second one, and ended up with all A's and one B on the nursing exams.
Welcome to the forum!! I got your email, by the way; I'll write you soon! As soon as I finish my four 12's in a row.

I am taking this tomorrow 3/28 and will update when I return! I have taken microbiology so far and found that if you take the practice tests, then go through and study the subjects that you got wrong, then you do fine on the exam. This is my first nursing test but got an A on micro. I have a friend who has taken safety and chronicity, she breezed past safety with an A and didn't study as much for chronicity and got a B. I found with Micro that there were some questions that you just DID NOT have an answer to but just like the NCLEX, it's learning the art of answering questions. I'll be back on Sat - have to travel 3 hours to get to a testing place, but will let you know how it goes!!!!

It's done and over!!!! Now on to chronicity. I tested today for safety essentials and it wasn't too bad. I kind of fell of the wagon at the end and didn't study the last two sections
So make sure you don't do that!!! But anyway, got a B and all is well.

Congratulations!! A B is a noble grade.
I think some of the nursing process and psych material is boring, dry, and the terms are confusing for topics that should not be difficult. The terminology muddles up my brain while taking the practice exams. I get the easy questions wrong. On to the real thing next Tues.

I took the test and passed with a B. As I was taking the exam I felt it was quite difficult and unrelated to the material I was studying. When I got home I realized I had been using the EC content guide for Health differences and not health safety!! What a dummy. I think I'm getting dumber with age
On another note, I'm am LPN so I don't need the differences test. My next step is to apply to the school and go from there.
