I was just wondering how helpful the practice test are that come from studyguide 101?  Do they compare with the practice test from EC?

In my opinion, NOTHING compares with the EC practice exams, because it's EC who writes the exams! I didn't use any practice exams besides the EC ones, really. But I'm sure some of those other practice exams might be useful just to make sure you're learning the materials. But yeah, EC's practice exams are the best, I think.
