I did purchase one of her note/programs/study guides off ebay. They are nicely put together. I compared them to the Ec content guide, they are right one target.

Has anyone used just her notes to pass an exam?

Thanks;
Tia

I have not taken an exam yet. However, I've been reading many many posts from the past and present and it seems like the ones who pass the exams study from a variety of learning resourses. I have read that some people use lisa's just for review. I purchased her notes and I personaly felt after reading them that it wasn't enough information. I mean the notes seem good and all but I can't rely soley on them. Good luck with your studies. Wink

I used hers alone for NC 3. I got a B.  She goes by the study guide - is right on with all her guides.  It depends on your study style on what works best but hers really lines up with what you need to know.

Yes she goes straight from the study guide and I have used her's for my last 2 and passed with a B, taking Micro today and will tell ya how that went as well.  But I agree--it all depends on your learning style!

Lisa Arends has done a great job putting together her study guides, but for me, Chancellor's was dead on with every exam! I got nothing less than a "B" on concepts 1-7. On to CPNE now!!

Study time depends on your method and amount of available time to study.  I have done anywhere fron 11 days to 5 weeks between tests.  If I can study all day on the weekends, it goes quickly.  If other things are needing attention on weekends then it takes longer.  I work 50-60 hours weekly, so try to study about 40 hours weekly (mostly weekends).

A good combination would be to review Lisa's notes, take the practice tests and mark down all of the information it gives in review of your test, then finish by reading the chapters given in the study guide.  Make note of the information you are lacking then test.  I made an A on my first exam using this.  BUT I only used the practice tests and read the chapters for the next concepts exams, and made A's on the next two tests.

I won't use Lisa's notes because of one problem that I had.  The main review was a 'read-only' file and would not allow any printing.  Being that my primary study time is NOT in front of a computer, I couldn't study it.  When I emailed her, she basically said tough.  She said that she wouldn't give a regular file to print.  She was rude and said that "these notes should not be your only study material, and if you don't have dedicated computer access, then you should probably not be doing this Excelsior program."  I guess that if I would have taken her advice, then I wouldn't have made another two A's lol...

I have found the material from studygroup101 to be good also.  I'd recommend them.

Good luck all.

Hey Don  Lisa Arends here; You are misquoting me,  Undecided or perhaps you did not understand my email?

When you wrote,  I said you should not use just the final review of my notes... since you wrote to me within days of receiving the order  I knew you had not even looked at the notes or resources on the CD.  It was obvious you were skipping right to the final review.

Many people pass with high grades using just my CD Study guides... they study all of the notes from  each section not just the final review.

All of the information in the final review section of my study guides is also in the main notes - I suggested that you print the main notes  for each section ( which anyone studying for an exam should and can do)  and hilight the items that correspond to the final review.

I appreciate that you wanted to skip the reading and start with the final review... but there are only so many short cuts one can take.  My study guides are meant to be studied... not browsed or memorized.

In summary I said you could not pass the exam using only my final review notes.. and suggested you actually use the entire study guide.    I am sorry that you were offended and congratulate you on your success.  By now you have likley finished the program, but I wanted to write and clarify this for others.   Lisa

Hey Lisa...Welcome aboard!  Many of us have used your study guides (in conjunction with our texts and practice tests).  I got A's on all concepts courses that way...Thanks!

I am working on the CPNE now.....and have your notes!  I am currently making a condensed study guide of my own. with practice senerios.  I test August 1-3 in Amarillo, so say a few prayers for me!
