I applied for a nursing scholarship from our hospital's Ladies Board, never thinking they would actually give me any money -- most scholarship applications I've seen require you to be a full-time student, to be actively doing clinicals, etc. But I applied anyway because it seemed like I met the criteria, and got a letter in the mail yesterday -- they're giving me a $3000 scholarship!! I am so excited!!! This should pretty much pay for everything, including CPNE. Wooo hooooooo!

That is great.  One less hurdle to jump.

Yeah, it definitely removes a lot of worry about the $$ part of things! Although my employer will reimburse me for stuff, but I have to come up with the funds in the first place. The nice thing is this also covers fees, so I can use the scholarship money to pay my annual registration when that comes due in July (the fee of think of as my "hey, dumba$$, you registered too soon" fee, ha ha). I'm hoping to have NC3 done by then so I'll at least have gained SOMETHING by registering early!

Has anyone heard anything regarding Excelsior becoming eligible to offer federal financial aid. I received a letter with my yearly fee and there was mention of it but no deadline as to when they would be offering it. That would help alot with tuition and fees if we could use federal financial aid to pay for the program.

Nope, I didn't hear anything about that .... but you can apply for several EC scholarships, which might help. Just go to the EC website and go to the Publications Request page -- it's under the "Financial Aid" section.
