I missed the Sept.30th deadline and I am therefore taking the new exams. I would like to meet others like me out there. I took the first exam today and made a "B".

Thanks

You are the first to report in here! Wink

Welcome to the group, I am sure as time passes more and more students who are using the new program will check in.

I FEEL SO LOST! I applied today and was told that they will be sending me all the info I need. Can I do everything I need to do from my comp? Or am I going to the Pearson places for the real tests. I went to a Pearson place for my LPN boards. I'm confused, and I have 3 GEDS and the nursing classes to take. Anyone have a figure on how long this could take. I am highly motivated and willing to crack down. Is it possible to have my RN at this time next year?? HELP!?

Hi and welcome.  I also missed the 9-30-07 deadline----Now on to the new classes.  I am not even sure the study guides are on the Excelsior site.  I am going to start with those guides; if they are not on the site, I guess I will call Excelsior.  Any other thoughts or suggestions?  Thanks

I saw the new study guide on the website, remember the names of the exams have changed from nursing concepts 1-7.
The first exam had 130 questions instead of 160.

I am here!  I recieved, yet another, rejection letter from the local nursing school on Novemeber 1st, I immediately looked into Excelsior.  I decided that if I was going to get this done in a timely manner, I would have to do it myself!

I have a high GPA 3.97.and I bew away the NET exam, and I have 20 years experience as an LPN.   When I asked as to why I did not get into the local program, they stated that "many factors were concidered, and you were not one of the top 20 applicants."  I canot help but wonder if my "age" was one of those factors.  I am 45.

Now, all that said... I am excited.  I only have the nursing portion to complete.  I really wish I had looked into this sooner, I would be done by now.  LET'S GET STARTED!

I do have one question.  I see that all of the available study material out there right now is geared to the "old system".  Would it be helpful to use those "nursing concept" notes to prepare for these exams?

Thank you,
Paige Smiley

Paige, you're going to kick butt. Smiley I can tell!

In looking at the new vs. old exam content guides, it doesn't look like the content has really changed -- it's just been rearranged. Someone on one of the YahooGroups posted a file that correlates the old to the new -- I'll have to see if I can find it and upload it for the folks doing the new curriculum.
