I know, it seems like it took them forever after my last exam to get mine updated! I like to check my GPA. I'm a dork. Smiley

My final nursing concepts exam (NC6) is tomorrow morning at 0900! Please think happy test thoughts for me. I did the practice exams and got a 77 on Form A (I would have done better if I had slowed down and READ the questions, but my satellite internet was being wonky again) and an 82 on Form B. I feel nearly ready!  Grin

I just finished working four 12s in a row at the ED while experiencing a lovely head cold. Wheee. I finally feel better today. Yay!

Can't remember which NC it was in (had to be the one with liver disease, NC5), but I've finally seen how VERY BLEEDY esophageal varices can be! Yikes. I've always heard the horror stories from EMS instructors and ER folks, but never saw the real deal until Saturday. All I can say is you don't realize how much blood is really in the human body until it's all pouring out like a faucet! Eeep.

Yes, about the esophageal varices, I encountered this experience for the only time right out of LVN school, I think I had "just" gotten my license.  I was horrified!  I cried and cried, I was 22 years old and hadn't seen what it could do.  I wanted to totally get out of nursing!  My charge nurse was an RN who was a very old nun!  She convinced me that witnessing this was not very common and was the second time she had ever seen one.  Luckily, I didn't quit nursing and here I am 15 years later.

I was glad to see the update also, I brag about being a straight B student... LOL!  3.03, that's OK by me!

LisaS, you're gonna do great on your last exam!  I bet you are totally psyched!!  I'll still keep ya in my prayers, though!  You're gonna ROCK!!  Come back over here after the exam and tell us how totally awesome you did.  Grin

Hope all is well with everyone else!  I got to quit my part time home health job today and let me say that it was a WONDERFUL relief not to have to do that again!

I'll let you know how it goes! Smiley And congrats on being able to quit the part-time gig!

Good luck, Lisa.  It must feel great to be almost done.  What was your most difficult nursing concepts exam?  How long will you study for CPNE and how much of a wait will it be for you to finally take it.  I heard some people have to wait 9 months.
