I realized that I was confused about the curriculum change for those enrolling after Oct 1 and thought I'd post a clarification for any others in my same boat.  I was in the process of buying materials for NC1, which I planned to take prior to getting my license in Nov and subsequently enrolling.  However after some calls and getting conflicting information I learned that this was a waste.  Unless one enrolls before Oct 1, NC1 is worthless.  The entire curriculum changes (not just NC3 and adding an 8th exame) with all new guides.  The first test will be different and NC1 won't count for any who enroll after the deadline.  From looking over their site, this was certainly not clear.  Hopefully no one is getting materials, studying and taking NC1 with an enrollment planned after Oct 1, or all that work is for naught.  They will send the new guides, but can't do any testing on the new courses till after Oct 1.

Couldn't you enroll now and beat the deadline and then follow the old guidelines?  That is what I did when they were announcing the changes.  I didn't want to have to add two more courses.

I would have to say enroll now!  You can always put your fees on a credit card.  It would be worth it.  I got a Discover card just for Excelsior fees.  Also, when you pay for an exam you have a financial interest and you will get classes done much faster.  There are a lot of material you can get from this site as well as others to keep your costs low for materials.  I just took NC 3 today and got a B.  Write out a plan.  I schedule my tests out around 3 week out and make a goal not to reschedule.  You can knock these classes out in no time, if you set your mind to it.  Give it your best!  Let me know if you have any questions.
