I have recently graduated and I am now on the search for nurse jobs. Everyone says that I should not have any problems picking up a job right off the bat, but I am having difficulties. Any suggestions?

Hi congrats. I knw this does not have anything to do with you looking for a job but how did you study for your test. I am having difficulty with lifespan 2 and take this test in two weeks I have been reading the required text and have the content guide from excelsior. I hve tried lisa ntes and study group 101 and the college network were so condensed that I still end up looking in the med/surg books

Hi I would look at hospitals. They have a lot of residency programs for new graduates in the field you want to work in. At least they do here in Houston, Tx. Not sure where you live. Good luck and congrats.  Smiley

congrats!
If no hospital work available...look into long term care.  I know some turn their noses up at Geriatrics but it actually is a challenge!  We now do trachs, respirators, cardiac rehab, neuro rehab, Picc lines/IV therapy...etc.  If nothing else, it can help you work into something more appealing to you.

Thank you! I actually ended up finding nurse jobs with Hospice. I am doing end of life care for patients and delegating work between CNA's and other assistants. Thank you for pointing me in the direction of long term care- I love it!
